Excursions

With the sea before it and the beautiful Venetian lagoon behind it, Jesolo is in a very favourable geographic position, and is close to countless attractions that are all within easy reach. Enchanting Venice is obviously first on the list of excursions just around the corner from Jesolo, but the hinterland also offers unrivaled cultural and scenic treasures that can't be missed.

Venice

You can get to Piazza San Marco from Park Hotel Ermitage in under an hour. It’s easy to drive or take a bus from our hotel to the port in Punta Sabbioni (a bus leaves every 30 minutes and the bus stop is about 200 metres away). Boats to Venice leave from there every 30 minutes – it’s a pretty little journey that lasts about 35 minutes and takes you along the lagoon and stops a short distance from Piazza San Marco, the official entranceway to the City of the Doges.

Combined tickets for the bus and boat can be bought at the hotel reception. Tickets for the boat journey from Punta Sabbioni to Venice can be bought directly at the port.

The islands of Murano, Burano, and Torcello

Just like with Venice, if you want to visit the islands then you need to go by car or bus to the port in Punta Sabbioni and then from there there are boats every 30 minutes to the inner part of the lagoon. Boats stop at all the famous islands: these include Murano (which is world-famous for its glass-making); colourful Burano; and Torcello, famous for its lace.

Combined tickets for the bus and the boat can be bought at the hotel reception. Tickets for the boat journey from Punta Sabbioni to Venice can be bought directly at the port.

Treviso

Treviso is about 40 minutes away and is a pretty little town with an enchanting feel and lots of history. Two rivers cross the city and add a truly unique charm as they weave their way through the city centre, which is encircled by ancient walls. The heart of the town is Piazza dei Signori with the Palazzo del Trecento and the Loggia dei Cavalieri, but the Cathedral is also well worth a visit and its Malchiostro Chapel contains frescoes by Il Pordenone and the Annunciation altarpiece by Titian.

Verona

Verona, city of art and history, is about 2 hours from our hotel. Piazza Bra is its central piazza and here you can visit the awe-inspiring Arena, the famous Roman amphitheatre that has hosted the city’s prestigious summer opera season for decades.
